I'm Ronnie Therriault, a Professional Economic Geologist (P.Geo.) with over 25 years of hands-on experience in mineral exploration and economic geology across Canada, South America, Southeast Asia, and Australia.

 

My work has spanned a wide variety of metal deposit types, including:

• Archean shear/vein gold

• Iron formation-hosted gold

• Intrusion-hosted gold

• Epithermal gold

• Magmatic Cu-Ni +/- PGE

• Volcanic-hosted massive sulphides

 

Over the years, I've built strong, practical skills applicable at every stage of exploration—from early-stage target generation to advanced programs and regulatory compliance. These include:

• High proficiency in ArcGIS, Touch GIS, QGIS, Leapfrog and Garmin programs for mapping, data compilation, and reporting

• Extensive experience leading compilation projects, from small, budget-friendly efforts to large-scale syntheses at former mine sites and legacy datasets

• Preparation and authorship of several NI 43-101 Technical Reports for Canadian mineral disclosure standards

• Preparation and filing of numerous Ontario assessment reports and plan/permit applications through the MLAS platform

 

I worked with the Ontario Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines (now Ministry of Mines) for four years, where I gained in-depth regulatory knowledge, including:

• Reviewing and recommending on plan/permit applications, Advanced Exploration projects, and Closure Plans

• Coordinating consultations with proponents and First Nations communities across Northwest Ontario

• Navigating complex permitting processes and ensuring compliance with provincial requirements

 

Based in Thunder Bay, Ontario, I now offer independent consulting services tailored to junior exploration companies, mid-tier miners, and other stakeholders needing reliable, field-tested expertise in gold, base metals, Ni-Cu systems, and more. My portfolio includes dozens of assessment reports, NI 43-101 filings, field programs, and data reinterpretations—many publicly available and verifiable.
