Site Visits & Property Evaluation
With 25+ years exploring diverse metal deposits worldwide—from epithermal gold in the Philippines to magmatic Ni-Cu in Canada—I've developed a sharp eye for opportunity. While I've worked across many commodities and settings, my true expertise and passion lie in Archean gold systems (lode, iron formation-hosted, and intrusion-related). I provide thorough on-site evaluations, including mapping, sampling, structural analysis, and realistic target ranking to help you decide next steps efficiently.

Ontario Plan & Permit Submission
Having spent four years with the Ontario Ministry of Mines (in its various forms), I reviewed and processed hundreds of plan and permit applications, gaining deep insight into regulatory expectations and common pitfalls. I prepare and submit your applications accurately and in full compliance with current Ministry guidelines and the MLAS platform. While no one can guarantee approval, I ensure your submission is complete, professionally presented, and positioned for the smoothest possible review.

Project Generation
I specialize in identifying high-potential exploration targets, particularly in underexplored or re-evaluated areas of the Canadian Shield. Drawing on regional geology knowledge, historical data synthesis, and modern GIS tools, I generate new project ideas or revive legacy prospects—focusing on Archean gold, Ni-Cu-PGE, and VMS settings. This service delivers prioritized targets, conceptual models, and initial staking/permitting recommendations to kickstart or expand your portfolio cost-effectively.

Assessment and Technical Reports
I've authored dozens of Ontario Assessment Reports and NI 43-101 compliant Technical Reports over the years, covering everything from early-stage prospecting to advanced drill programs. My reports are thorough, well-structured, and fully compliant with regulatory standards. Examples of my work, including public filings and independent technical reports, are available on the Publications page.

MLAS Solutions
Ontario's MLAS (Mining Lands Administration System) is powerful but notoriously complex and frequently updated—frustrating even for experienced users. I was with the Ministry during its early, turbulent rollout, so I understand its quirks intimately. I handle claim registration, transfers, assessment work filings, and other MLAS tasks accurately and efficiently, saving you time and reducing the risk of errors or delays.

Indigenous Consultation
A significant part of my Ministry tenure involved coordinating consultations with First Nations and Métis communities affected by exploration activities in Northwest Ontario. I bring practical experience in building respectful relationships, facilitating meetings, addressing concerns, and helping integrate Indigenous knowledge into project planning. This service ensures your consultation process meets duty-to-consult requirements while fostering positive, collaborative outcomes.

Data/GIS Compilation
I've led numerous large- and small-scale data compilation projects, from merging decades of legacy datasets at former mine sites to building clean, modern project databases. A well-organized, accurate GIS database is critical for effective decision-making and regulatory compliance. With extensive proficiency in ArcGIS, Leapfrog, Touch GIS, Garmin tools, Excel, and other software—combined with meticulous attention to detail—I deliver streamlined, reliable compilations that save time in exploration and reporting.

Historic Research
I excel at uncovering overlooked or buried information in historical records—whether it's pinpointing a lost showing's coordinates in an old Geological Survey of Canada volume, decoding cryptic assessment file notes, or tracing ownership chains through decades of reports. This service turns dusty archives into actionable insights, often revealing missed opportunities or resolving data gaps that modern desktop studies alone can't address.

Drill Program Supervision
I provide hands-on field support for drill programs, including site supervision, core logging, sampling protocols, QA/QC implementation, and real-time decision-making. Drawing from years supervising crews in remote Canadian settings and internationally, I ensure programs run safely, on-budget, and with high-quality data collection—maximizing the value of your drilling investment.

Rates

All services billed at $700/day (office-based) or $900/day (field-based), plus expenses as applicable.

**Flexible Options for Prospectors**
While the standard rates listed above apply in most cases, I offer significantly reduced rates for individual prospectors and small-scale explorers who are facing challenges with MLAS—such as maintaining claims, submitting assessment work credits, or handling related administrative tasks. If you're a prospector working independently and need support to keep things compliant and moving forward, just reach out—I'm happy to discuss discounted arrangements tailored to your situation.
